Our Team Leader, Mr Claude Guillemain, has been selected on this basis.

General Profile

Mr Guillemain holds a Master in Business Administration and a Degree in Financial Markets.

He brings forty years of experience working in the financial sector and in international development. Mr Guillemain started his career with the Caisse Nationale de Crédit Agricole in France working in both management and technical positions. Through his work with CNCA he also acquired his first international experiences in Oman, Egypt, and Central African Republic for various projects to improve access to finance for farmers, cooperatives, small-medium enterprise development in the agricultural sector and agro-industries. This included credit analysis, development of training programmes, and management of credit lines.

After having worked for almost 15 years with the Caisse Nationale de Crédit Agricole, Mr Guillemain continued his professional career as consultant, focusing on making rural finance more accessible. He has worked in many different countries projects providing technical assistance to mainly agricultural banks and other financial institutions and programmes. He worked among others in Zimbabwe, Togo, Rwanda, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire and Benin. The consultancy work centered in the areas of micro and rural finance, SME development, bank strategy and institution building, savings and credit policy, resources collection, training, general management, internal organisation, control and systems.

Mr Guillemain has worked in various leadership positions as Head of Project, Team Leader, Branch Manager. This has provided him with the necessary skills to steer our team of experts for the implementation of SSADP. These same experiences have provided him extensive project management experience, from relative small projects to large complex projects.

Mr Guillemain is a well-versed writer of reports, for both internal as external publication. He possesses good communication and social skills required for this position. He is an experienced trainer: early in his career he was part-time teacher with the Centre de Formation de la Profession Bancaire(French Training Center for the Banking Sector) and continued to provide trainings in many of the projects he worked in.

As already indicated above, Mr Guillemain has a long track-record working in financing in the agricultural sector. He has providing technical assistance to mainly agricultural banks and other financial institutions and programmes on micro and rural finance, SME development, bank strategy and institution building, savings and credit policy, resources collection, training, general management, internal organisation, control and systems. His international experience includes countries like Zimbabwe, Togo, Rwanda, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire and Benin.
